Less than 2% of Florida highways are paved in concrete because of a poor mix design back in the 1970s.  Ajax Paving Industries, Inc -Florida Division has been re-introducing and educating Florida about modern concrete mix designs and their resilience. In ACPA‘s Quarter 3 issue, Ajax discusses their concrete mix design for the 5.5 mile SR710 project they recently completed. The SR710 is part of the hurricane evacuation route requiring the concrete to be resilient to heavy traffic, rainfall, and extreme heat. Ajax Paving had an abundance of Maxon Agitors to assist in transporting and placing concrete on the project.
