OVERVIEW
In the Spring of 2018, WisDOT awarded Brownsville,Wisconsin based company, Michels Corp, the $168 million contract for the 8.1 mile reconstruction of I-94 from Racine to Kenosha. The project would expand the interstate to eight lanes and include the rebuilding of other interchanges. A few months later, Michels Corp was awarded an $80 million contract to reconstruct 4.5 miles of Interstate 94 from HWY 20 to County Rd G in Racine. Both projects are set to be complete by the end of 2019.
To help complete the 12.6 miles of I-94, Michels Corp utilized their existing (10) 12 yd3 Maxon Agitors and added 2 more to their fleet during the project. They have used their Agitors to pour concrete for mainline, shoulder, bridge and ramp approaches, and patch-work paving.
