Local Illinois company, Concrete by Wagner, was recently contracted by FCL Builders for an extensive job in Joliet, IL pouring a concrete floor, parking lot, curbs and sidewalks for a 148,000 ft2 PrimeSource Warehouse to be completed in just three days. Concrete by Wagner turned to Ozinga Ready-Mix to transport and place concrete at the site. With the help of TranzLoader, Ozinga only needed 8 mixer trucks on-site and transported concrete in dump trucks to site. Allowing their mixer trucks to be freed up for other jobs while keeping things running smoothly on the PrimeSource project.
Ozinga contracted 31 dump trucks to transport concrete from their central mix batch plant to TranzLoader’s 12yd3 tub that then conveyed up into their mixer trucks to place concrete on-site.
Ozinga only needed 8 mixer trucks on-site to remix and place the concrete that was transported from contracted dump trucks and transfered into the TranzLoader.
Ozinga’s Operations Manager for Illinois North & Wisconsin, Brent Blankenhorn, eplained how TranzLoader successfully help Ozinga complete the pour.
While the PrimeSource project was already a huge task, it was taking place at the height of the
construction busy season in Illinois when most companies have a surplus of work but limited
equipment. They needed a partner with a know-how and logistical capablities to work within their tight three-day turnaround. By offering TranzLoader on the job, Ozinga was able to free up mixer trucks for Concrete by Wagner to keep all their projects running and complete the PrimeSource pour in three days.
The completed PrimeSource Distribution Center is a 148,000 ft2 facility housing building materials and fastening solutions in Joliet, IL.
